Our Story

Established by Doug Hughes in 1989, Oxfordshire Estates is proud to have now been in business for over 30 years.

Doug developed comprehensive experience in the industry throughout the 1980's and before establishing this business worked for a number of larger estate agencies including Buckell & Ballard as area manager.

Buckell & Ballard closed a number of offices in order to make economies. Included in these was their Abingdon branch. Doug recognised that the business had real potential and decided to start his own estate agency. He entered a ‘sealed bid' for the office and his offer was successful (by a margin of just £5!).

The business continues to operate from the same premises in Bath street, Abingdon and together with his small team has built up an extensive lettings portfolio with many loyal clients who remain with him to this day.
